General Discussion / H Company is hiring...(repost)
« on: June 08, 2015, 11:21:21 am »
People of H co.,

Your imperious overlord (also known as your XO, or "Who? Oh, I thought he quit playing.") is looking to pass on his mantle of leadership to someone with either an excessive amount of spare time or who would really like to help take H co. to where ever it's headed next (it would be my preference that it's the latter.)

I volunteered/was offered a chance to do other things for the watch that better suit my peculiar skill set, and odd gaming habits (read: My inability to focus on just a couple games at a time.) If you would like to try your hand at being a company officer, and you feel like you this position would suit you well please message me on FB, the forums, or in game, and we'll go over what all the job the entails, and see if helping lead the awesome bunch of folks in H Company is the job for you.

Cheers,
Angrybunny

I was bummed about Need For Speed World. I just got into that game, and was enjoying it quite a bit.

I've had Behemoth's most recent album, The Satanist, on heavy rotation this week. It's an amazingly good album if you're into that sort of music.

In the interests of full disclosure. If you're easily offended, squeamish, or take issue with things that go against the church, don't watch. That's why I did hyper links instead of player links.

General Discussion / Re: Should Developers Sell Early Access?
« on: March 09, 2014, 01:27:09 pm »
I don't like the idea of paying a fee to help a company like actiblizzard or Sony work the kinks out of their games. The gaming industry (generally speaking) is already fueled by greed and a need to exploit the player base for every damn penny it can get. If it's an indie company I can see where charging a fee for early access isn't necessarily a bad thing as long as it comes with a perk once the game releases; even if it's something as simple as a title or exclusive item of some sort.

All that being said I'm still really fed up with the exploitation rampant in the gaming world now.

My only real MMO experience where I was truly invested both emotionally and financially was WoW about 6 months after launch up to the time of the accursed Kung Fu Panda (I'm still bitter). I've since carried on in various MMOs of various shape and size but what really kills it for me is the people. By the time I stopped playing WoW it had gotten to a point where I was only in chats when I needed something, and even my guild had gone from people I enjoyed playing with to people I only tolerated because as an officer I had to. I blame most of that on the flood of new players in the gaming world as a whole....More to come later, I have to go take care of something. lol

General Discussion / Re: Are eSports "real" sports?
« on: January 23, 2014, 09:58:40 pm »
We (by we I mean gamers) have leagues, we have organized competitions both solo and team. Although they are different altogether we have injuries inherent to our chosen pursuit. The average NFL player couldn't dive into a game I play with any proficiency anymore than I could his. So to my mind, yes, esports can be considered a "true" sport. However I don't see why anyone would get their panties in a bunch over whether or not anyone considers it a sport. If the concern is that no one takes it seriously then I suppose work needs to be done to change that, because people that compete in gaming on a professional level, while admittedly in the minority, dedicate vast amounts of time to being the best at what they do.

I'm always fascinated by what people listen to. My tastes range from the blackest of black metal to Lady Gaga and all stops in between; about the only stuff I can't get into is new country and most rap and hip hop. Unless it has a point, if it has something to say I'm all over it.
