I actually have an old WoW account from years ago sitting around somewhere, if I could dig up the username/password.  No real interest in playing it again though...

But I have to ask.  How do winged mounts work in that game?  I left before they were introduced.  I know they had winged quick-travel mounts but those were on rails.  If you get on a winged mount of your own, do you have complete free reign of the skies?  Can you control your altitude?  How high can you go?  Can you fly over any terrain anywhere and land wherever you want?  Can you land in the middle of the ocean or something?

...Am I asking too many questions?

Hi Kianne,
 Yes we have flying mounts now. The first one is at lvl 60 and yes you can fly almost everywhere in the game now, however there are a few areas that you cannot fly.
In the WoLK you have to purchase a cold area flying liscense and then there is a master flying that is the highest lvl and you get up to 310% faster flying.
Yes you can control the direction, altitude and over terrain and land, but you cannot land in the ocean. Flying too far out you will develop fatigue and die

Wow, to me, this sounds exploitable, but what do I know?    I mean, if you want to get to a certain quest objective, just hop on your mount, fly over all the mobs, land next to the objective, right-click, hop back on the mount, fly back out, deliver quest, get reward...

pretty much, but usually there is some searching or hunting for the quest item.

But if you're 100 feet over the guy's head, how does he aggro you?  And even if he does, does it matter when you're that high up and are moving faster than he can run?

you can't pick things up if you are on your mount.

Ah, I misunderstood, I thought it was a reference to when flying around.

you cannot pick up things while flying and you cannot mount if something is aggroing you even it they are far and cannot damage you.. Sometimes you cant even kill them and you are stuck not being able to fly for awhile because of that.

But yes Ki.. Druid can go around that.. they have flight form and they can pick up some stuff while staying in bird form. I always thought it make harvesting for others quite unfair....

Aaaah, Druids have a bird form now??  I'd totally play a Druid just for that.

I'm envious of these winged mounts right now playing SWTOR because there are those darn Datacrons shining at me but they're too high to reach... shiiiny...
